Why are Tim Mai & Than Merrill Following Me?

There I was just minding my own business and telling a couple of my friends what I was up to… As I began wrapping up for the day, I suddenly realized that I was being followed.

Do you ever get that feeling? Like you’re being followed.

At first I thought it was a joke, but when I looked a little closer I realized that…Yes…I’m being Followed by Than Merrill. You know… That guy from Flip This House. But Why is he following me?

As strange as it was, I kept on doing what I was doing when out of no where I see that someone else is following me. It’s none other than Tim Mai. Tim Mai is considered one of the Top Real Estate Investing Gurus and is known for doing great things in the industry of Real Estate Investing.

The first question I had was… OK, Is This really Tim Mai and Than Merrill?

    The answer: Yes!

Then I asked…Why are they following Me? I mean of all people… why me?

Suddenly, Tim & Than both begin revealing all this personal stuff to me. They go on to do this for hours.

Why are they doing this? What is this all about? Do I even care? Is this even worth my time?

Well Its best that I let you in on what was happening. No, this was not a dream by the way…

Ok so let me be a little more clear on what actually happened that day.

Yes, Tim Mai & Than Merrill are actually following me and they’re going on and on about the personal things going on in their life. However, it may not be how you think. (Unless I was too obvious…)

They’re using this application called Twitter. You’ve heard of it right? You may even have you’re own twitter page.

So what the heck is Twitter and why are Real Estate Investors flocking to it. Twitter is a form of blogging. It’s typically referred to as thumb blogging or…micro blogging. The reason is because when you want to write about your day or refer something of value to your followers, you have to be able to accomplish this in 140 characters or less.

So on a normal blog I can write as much as I want and you’d see exactly what you’re reading now.

However, on Twitter you’d see something like:

Just read an interesting blog post on “People Who Can Destroy Your Dreams In an Instant!” Go Check It out!

See that… I just used 108 characters. I just wrote a micro blog or what we in Twitter world would call… a Tweet!

When you write a tweet, it is published to the internet for all of your followers to see. Who are you followers? Well, anyone can follow you, however what you’ll find is that most people who follow you are likely to have the same interests as you.

I’m interested in Real Estate Investing & Marketing, so it would make sense that I’d be followed by Tim Mai and Than Merrill who are also into Real Estate Investing. Now that they’re following me, they get to see my tweets.

Also, because I’m following them back, I get to see their tweets as well. Have you ever wanted to know what goes on inside the head of some of the Top Real Estate Investors in the industry? Well, sites like twitter can help you do just that.

Real Estate Investors are Tweeting like crazy on Twitter. However, there are right ways to do it and wrong ways to do it. You don’t want to go crazy with just spamming your business like a tweeting maniac every 10 minutes. That’s a great way to piss people off and get your account suspended on twitter fast!

Also You don’t want to just follow anyone. Its best to stick with people who have the same interests as you. If you’re in to Real Estate Investing, then follow Real Estate Investors, Real Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers, Lenders, Builders, etc.

Trust me, they’re all on there.

Also, let people in on what you are up to. Whether it be a challenge you’re dealing with in your business, a question you have about a certain topic, achievements you’ve made, things that are going on in your life personally.

What you’ll find is that you are building a rapport with your followers and they will begin to form relationships with you. These relationships can be very beneficial to you in so many ways and can even make your business very profitable if done the right way.

The little tidbits I’ve given you so far can help, but if you really want to find out the inside scoop on how to master sites like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and other forms of Social Media, then you have to check out a good friend of mine named Perry Belcher, who is what some would call… a Social Media Guru!

Yes, you can make money with sites like twitter and facebook, however there is a certain way to do it! Perry Belcher goes into depth on how this is done.

Why listen to Perry? Well, Perry has easily generated over 130,000 social media fans in the past 9 months and has managed to give and receive tons of value in the process. He also loves to share, which is why I’m always willing to listen.

The free content alone is golden and is definitely worth your time. Don’t believe me?
