In this blog post, I’m going to recommend a must read article that talks about what to consider when hiring a property management company from Chris Thorman at Software Advice’s blog. If you’re on my investor list, then you know that lately I’ve been sending out creative real estate deals that may be outside of your state, but have property management companies in place.

Although I highly recommend having a property manager in place to manage all your out of state real estate properties, it’s your decision and it’s best that you know the ins and outs of choosing one.

To some, it may seem like a no brainer to have a property management company in place that handles the majority of the landlord to tenant responsibilities while the property owner sits back and collects a check.

But to others, it may be a risky or even costly decision when allowing someone else to manage their property and landlord responsibilities on their behalf.

In all honesty, there are many pro and cons when it comes to using a property management company and if you just look at the pros or just look at the cons, you’d be doing yourself a disservice.
